Eleven years ago I found
myself on a life transfer from young lady to mom. As cliché as
it sounds, I didn't like what was happening to my body...or I should
said happened to my body. I became obsessed with losing weight and
regaining femininity. I wanted to look like a chic again and not
like a mom. I love my boys but I do not live for them, or vicariously
through them, but rather strive to live life fully WITH them. So
we
each stand alone held together by the bond of their birth. They are my
true loves, however... they changed me so I decided to change!
I became severely anorexic. They were self made wounds, but it took
family, friends, a husband, and finally a photo for me to get what was
going on. I was losing my hair. I was weak as hell. I had no muscle
tone. You could serve soup in my clavicle bones...LOL! It was my Dr.'s
plea telling me I was killing myself that pushed me to take the next
step of therapy (un-medicated I am proud to say.) And in 1 intense year
of eating disorder therapy I learned to eat again. This journey has
done more for me than I can ever express. But I overcame.... reached
the top of a huge mountain and at that top I found another hill to
climb and it continues to this very day.
I never take my success, my body, or my tragedies for granted. Yes,
even the bad stuff, the shit that has taken me from pitiful to
grateful. I
worked to acquire my first certification in this industry in group
exercise then I built my resume from there to include Pilate's,
kickboxing, yoga, personal training, Zumba, dance, balletone, urban
striptease, kettle bell, silver sneakers, hip hop, weight training,
outdoor boot-camp, chakra therapy, and a list of continuing education
courses and so much more...OK, you get it, I have done my homework.
I have put 11 years of sweat equity into my passion ..."fitness". This
journey has been MY lesson in fitness. And now with the support of my
best friend and husband Greg, I have my own studio! We awoke on
March 12, 2010 determined to make my dream come true. That evening we
saw the location that now will be home to The ClassRoom!
I thank every single man,
woman, and child that has ever been apart of my classes, programs or
training. This is it! This is the place to be! We promise you the
best facility, the best educated instructors, the best equipment, and a
building relationship that we will create class after class, and
session after session!
I will continue my
dedication to the Austintown Local Schools. I look forward to another
year with each school and the Fitness Center members. We hope to see
our community center members at The ClassRoom. As an incentive, we are
committed to making monthly donations to the center, in order to
allow for improvements to our center to better train our
residences and athletes.
Welcome To The ClassRoom Aerobics and Training Studio!
Sincerely,
Debbie
